When it comes to protecting your firearms, a high-quality gun safe is an essential investment. Our safes offer industry-leading fire protection and lock pick resistance to keep your guns secure and your family safe. Here are some of the key features to look for in a top-of-the-line gun safe:
Fire Protection
Our gun safes are designed to withstand extreme heat and prevent your contents from being damaged in the event of a fire. This gives you peace of mind knowing that your firearms and other valuables will be safe, even if the unthinkable happens. We offer four levels of protection to meet your specific needs. All levels include at least one layer of 5/8″ ToughRock® Fireguard X® Gypsum Board:
- Single – Protected to 1200 degrees for 45 minutes. One layer of Fireguard X®.
- Double – Protected to 1600 degrees for 45 minutes, Two layers of Fireguard X®.
- Triple – Protected to 1200 degrees for 90 minutes. Three layers of Fireguard X®.
- Ceramic – Protected to 2400 degrees for 60 minutes. Our highest level of fire protection includes a 1″ Ceramic Blanket, a single layer of 5/8″ layer of Fireguard X®, and an inner liner of 16 gauge steel.
Door Fire Seal
All of our safes include an industry-leading Palusol® door seal. When exposed to a fire, the seal expands to eight times its original size protecting your contents from smoke and fire. In normal operating conditions, this door seal works in conjunction with our optional dehumidifier rod to control humidity and protect the finish on your valuables.
Key Lock Safes – Drill and Pick Resistance
Our key-lock safes feature a proprietary vertical-mount and recessed lock block. These locks are virtually impossible to pick, pry, punch, or damage. Laboratory tests have proven that our dual dead-bolts would require a force in excess of 25,800 pounds to break open. This unique design provides several benefits:
- First: the recessed lock block allows us to install a manganese steel plate directly in front of the lock block. Manganese steel is a special alloy that becomes harder as is it drilled. This essentially eliminates the ability for a thief to drill or cut the locking mechanism from the front of the safe.
- Second: the vertically mounted and recessed lock make it extremely difficult to drill out the key hole because the tools cannot fit in the space. Similarly, lock pick tools will not easily fit in the space.
- Third: All key-lock safes include two separate dead bolts that can be keyed the same, or differently. In the event one lock is compromised, the second lock will still function independently.
Multiple Locking Options
If you don’t prefer a key-lock safe, we also offer top-of-the-line electronic keypads or combination dials from Sargent & Greenleaf in a variety of colors. Just like our key-lock safes, manganese steel alloy is added to reinforce critical parts of the locking mechanism. On larger models we can mix and match keys, keypads and dials. No other safe company offers this level of customization!
Organizational Features
All of our safes include 1″ steel square tube racks that will last for a lifetime. This rack is painted to match the exterior of your safe. The size, spacing and configuration of your racking and shelving are fully customizable. Our shelves have a 250lb weight limit. We offer two default configurations for your convenience:
- Our Collector’s Interior is a full rack to maximize the number of long guns you can store. On our 72″ tall safes, two shelf is included above the rack.
- Our Sportsman Interior includes a full rack but adds a shelf along one side to store ammunition, optics or parts. This shelving is fully adjustable or removable if your needs change in the future.
Highest Quality Metal Construction
We match each safes use and design with the perfect metal thickness, and use only the highest quality steel in the construction. The body is thoroughly mig-gun welded and the carcass is constructed with one continuous formed piece of steel with no seams. We offer three levels of steel thickness:
- Gold Collection: These safes are constructed from full 1/4″ steel in both the body and the door.
- Silver Collection: These safes are constructed with a 10 gauge body and a 1/4″ thick door for a good balance of weight, security and cost.
- Bronze Collection: These safes are constructed with a 12 gauge body and a 10 gauge door. Combined with all of the unique features of our safe designs, this offers an unparalleled match of value and cost.
Hinge Configuration
All hinges are mounted externally. We offer both left and right side hinges to allow you to customize your safe perfectly for your home or office. An internal re-locker is included on key-lock safes and 1″ steel bolts are used on bolt-action safes. An intruder can spend hours cutting off all the hinges and be no closer to getting in than when they started.
Our hinges are crafted in-house and fitted to each safe individually. This allows us to tune each safe for the smoothest opening doors possible while also allowing for the widest possible opening.
Bolt-Action Door Lock
We only use 1″ steel bolts in all our Bolt-Action door locking safes. The locking mechanism uses a rack-and-pinion gear action to control the movements of our heavy hardened steel bolts, which lock into the steel vault frame, and are controlled by a five prong spoke wheel. Our Bolt-Action system is compatible with all our lock mechanisms including key-lock, keypad or combination.
Attractive Appearance
While security should be the top priority, the appearance of your gun safe is also an important consideration. We offer many options to customize the appearance of your safe to fit your exact specifications.
- Paint Quality: All of our safes are painted with the highest quality automotive grade paint.
- Finish: All safes come with a highly durable textured finish but can be upgraded to our High Gloss Enamel Finish.
- Body Color: We offer Black, Charcoal, Brown, Beige, Maroon, Blue and White but can color match any item or color you provide.
- Trim Color: We offer Black, Silver, White and Gold Trim.
- Lock Color: Our Keypad and Combination locks come in a variety of finishes.
- Bolt-Action Spoke Handle: We offer 5-spoke handles in Black, Silver and God but can also paint the spoke wheel to match your Trim color.
- Custom Logo: We proudly apply our logo to each safe we hand craft, but you can replace or add a vinyl logo, name or monogram in many different colors.
